About District Pour House + Kitchen
District. Pour House + Kitchen in Historic Waldo Offers unique craft brews and libations, original American food and local flair.
Our Team is made by talented and motivated people. They all share one thing:
The Love for Food!
We feature 34 infused spirits, including three rotating/seasonal selections. We have over 100 bottled beers and 13 on draught. Our Libations menu is crafted around the infusions. We use only the finest and freshest ingredients in all of our infusions. All of our recipes are rigorously taste tested to tantalize your palate. Our food menu is New/Progressive American cuisine, highlighting flavors from multiple regions to satisfy everyone's cravings. We like to consider our place upscale, yet casual. Romantic, but edgy. A place you can visit for your first date, or to watch the big game with all your buddies. We love our neighborhood, we are inspired by it, both owners are local, and we are so happy to be here!

For 18+ years, Dan has been working in some of Kansas City’s oldest establishments including Coach’s, Stroud’s, and the Classic Cup. Starting off as a bus boy and working his way up with some of the great mentors that work at those historic restaurants, he has now found his own niche in the Kansas City restaurant scene. In 2013 Jason and Dan opened District Pour House in Waldo with attention to Modern American Cuisine as well as a strong Craft Cocktail Menu.
Jason was born & raised in Prairie Village, KS. He graduated from Shawnee Mission East in '96 and studied Food and Beverage at JCCC.
From his humble beginnings as a dishwasher at age 14, he made the move to server and then found his home behind the bar. It was there Jason acquired a passion for creating cocktails. He has bar-tended, managed and developed drink menus and bar design for a few local establishments. It was always a lifelong goal to have the opportunity to open his own place. Jason met Dan & for years talked about making the leap into ownership together. Both living and loving the Waldo and Brookside area, when the right space became available, they jumped on it and the rest is history. Going on his 27th year in the industry, Jason hopes this is just the beginning!
John Magno has been the Executive Chef at District Pour House + Kitchen since they opened in 2013. He started cooking at the young age of 12 in his hometown, Wichita, KS, at his parent’s restaurant. He continued his culinary education at Johnson County Community College and as an apprentice under Chef Michael Turner at the Classic Cup Café.
Chef John Magno works with local charities and is involved in community events and donations. He has been featured on cooking segments on KCTV 5 and Fox 4. Earlier this year, a few of his recipes were published in the “Missouri Back Road Restaurant Recipes” cookbook.
As a Waldo local at the age of 29, Chef John Magno brings great food to the area and is still developing new skills and recipes with great drive, creativity, and imagination!
